A tummy tuck is also known as an abdominoplasty. An abdominoplasty is performed in order to remove fat and excess skin from the abdominal region. This procedure will not only eliminate excess fat from this general region, it will also restore weakened or separated muscles through the process of creating a smoother and firmer mid-section.
Some of the most common causes for excess fat in the abdominal region are pregnancies, aging, fluctuations in weight, as well as heredity. Cosmetic surgery procedures, such as a tummy tuck can help you obtain the flat, toned midsection that you have always wanted.
A tummy tuck is not a substitute for weight loss and a proper exercise regimen. Even though the results generated from a tummy tuck are permanent, the positive outcome from the procedure can diminish greatly due to weight fluctuations by the individual. Tummy tucks cannot correct stretch marks that are already apparent in your abdominal area. A tummy tuck is considered to be a good option for candidates that are physically healthy and maintain a stable weight, that encompass realistic expectations, that are non-smokers and are bothered with their abdominal region appearing to be large. There are some surgeons that will require that you remain in their facilities for one night after the surgery has been performed. Some surgeons engage in outpatient tummy tuck surgeries. If your surgeon agrees to allow you to travel home after your surgery has been completed, they will give you instructions to assist you with the aftercare process.
A few possible safety risks for the procedure include: skin loss, infection, blood clots, bleeding, as well as unfavorable scarring. However, your plastic surgeon will monitor your status throughout the entire recovery process in order to ensure that you are not suffering from any of these possible side effects. The cost for the procedure varies depending on the surgeon that is performing the procedure. Plastic surgeons are allowed to set their prices for their procedures rendered, so do not be alarmed if one surgeon quotes you one price and another surgeon quotes you a completely different price for the same procedure. What is Sculptra Aesthetic?
Sculptra Aesthetic is an injectable filler used to help plump up the skin by replacing lost collagen, a protein that provides the skin with strength, flexibility and resilience. It is made from Poly-L-lactic acid and is used to correct shallow to deep wrinkles and folds. Sculptra works over time to eliminate lines and give you a more youthful appearance. Sculptra Aesthetic is generally used to address the deep folds between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds) also called smile lines, the lines framing your mouth (marionette lines) and chin wrinkles. When used effectively, Sculptra is an effective non surgical method to help reverse the signs of aging.
Who performs the injections?
The board-certified Plastic Surgeons at Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery will perform the injections. They have been professionally trained by Sculptra Aesthetic to use the most effective techniques. They have several years of experience with Sculptra and are one of the few physicians in Omaha to provide this service.
What can I expect during a treatment?
Sculptra Aesthetic will be administered through a series of treatments approximately three weeks apart. On average, three treatments are needed. Ultimately, your treatment plan will be determined by your physician and tailored to your needs. There will be a several injections during each treatment. The number of injections will depend on the degree of correction desired. Topical anesthetic may be used if desired, but many choose not to. There will be discomfort during the treatment, which will vary from person to person. Following the injections, there may be swelling and/or bruising that will subside over the next few days.
Will I see results right away?
No. Sculptra Aesthetic provides subtle results over time. You will have post treatment swelling over the next few days which may give you an idea of what it may look like, but once the swelling goes down, wrinkles will temporarily reappear. Sculptra Aesthetic will continue to work as the process of collagen replacement continues.
How long will it last?
The Sculptra Aesthetic will continue to gradually work as time passes. It is estimated to last up to two years, but each individual’s result will vary.
Is it right for me?
If you’re looking for a more youthful appearance with long-lasting results and without looking like you’ve just stepped out of the plastic surgeons office, Sculptra Aesthetic may be right for you! If you’re allergic to any of the ingredients or any active skin infections, you should not use Sculptra Aesthetic. In general, to be a good candidate for Liposuction, you would need to be in good health, have realistic expectations of how much fat you want removed from your body and have one or more areas where fat has accumulated. You should also be close to your desired weight and have skin that does not sag and has good elasticity. Liposuction can give you very substantial improvements, but you should have a realistic outlook that results may not make you look perfect.

The procedure involves the use of a cannula and a vacuum pump. The surgeon will insert a needle found on the end of the machine into where the excess fat is located. The machine is moved back and forth in order to break up the fat. Once the fat has been broken up, it will then be removed from your body.
How much does Liposuction cost?
The cost of Liposuction varies depending on where you go. At Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery, Liposuction starts at about $3,200 and goes up depending on the number of areas you want done. This price includes the facility, anesthesia and the physicians fees. It would not cover medications such as antibiotics or pain medications if complications did arise. Is Liposuction a reasonable treatment for obesity?
No. Nor is it a cure or treatment for people with Diabetes. It is merely an effective way to get rid of stubborn fat in various places on one's body. One of our liposuction surgeons would be able to tell you if you would be a candidate.
Does Liposuction remove cellulite?
No, unfortunately not. Our physicians can go over the procedure and options for you. Our cosmetic consultations are free.
Is Liposuction permanent?
The fat cells that are removed from the body are gone forever. This does not mean you will never gain weight again. You may notice you gain weight in places you did not before.

Breast Implants - FAQ
Plastic Surgery is becoming increasing popular, especially breast implants. Our surgeons have gathered a few answers to the questions that you may be asking.
Breast Implants
How do I choose the right size for me?
Choosing the right size for you can be difficult. In the end, it is a personal preference and one that you will make with the guidance of your physician. The physician will give you an idea of what size they think your breast tissue and frame will be able to handle and what they think would look best. The decision is yours.
Silicone or Saline?
This decision is ultimately a personal choice of the patient. Some women feel more comfortable with saline because of the rumors that had swirled around silicone in the past. Silicone implants are now FDA approved and more and more women are choosing these types of implants because they tend to feel more like the natural breast. Your physician can give you guidance and also let you feel and try on the different implants to help you make your decision.
Are breast implants safe? What are the risks?
In 1992, silicone breast implants were removed from the market, making many women skeptical about their safety. Studies have been performed for years to determine the safety of these breast implants. In November of 2006, the FDA approved the silicone implants and placed them back on the market. As breast implants evolved, saline (salt water) became an accepted alternative fill to silicone, although silicone can look and feel more like a real breast. Whether filled with silicone gel or salt water, the shell of both types of breast implants is made of a firmer, silicone elastomer. It is a personal choice and one you should discuss with your physician.
How much does breast augmentation surgery cost?
Prices of breast augmentation vary depending on the type of implant you choose and the surgeon you go to. At Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery, we charge $4600 for saline implants, $5600 for silicone implants and $6100 for our cohesive gel 410 clinical study implants. These fees include all pre and post op visits, anesthesia, facility fees and surgeons fees. The only thing not included in this surgery would be any medications or pre-op lab work you may need. Your physician can go over these with you at a pre-surgical consult.
How much pain will I be in after my surgery?
Many women are able to return to their normal day to day activities within days of their surgery. Heavy lifting will be restricted and you should consult with your physician if this is a concern. Pain is different for everyone depending on your level of pain tolerance. Some women report no discomfort with the surgery itself, but the recovery process can be slightly more painful.
Am I too old for breast augmentation?
Women are living much longer than they used to, well into their 70's and 80's. When and if you get breast implants is a personal choice. As long as you are healthy, there is no reason why you could not be a candidate for breast augmentation.
